FOKUS Ministries International (Friends of Kiwoko, United States) is a non-profit organization created to bring much deserved attention to one of the worst war-torn areas in Uganda. In 1989, following a horrific civil war, an Irish-run missionary hospital was established to attend to thousands of displaced subsistence farmers. Today, thirty years later, Kiwoko Hospital is still attending to the needs of over 700,000 people living in the bush of eastern Uganda. Sixty five percent (65%) of the operating funds for the hospital come from donations outside of the African continent.
Our Mission
The underlying guiding principle of FOKUS Ministries International is that we believe Christ came to earth over 2,000 years ago and did two things, he taught and he healed and that is what we are to do in His name. Our mission today is clear and we feel privileged to serve our Lord with the resources He provides to us through the generosity of others.
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me!” ”
